Network extender has taken over my IP address for my iMac

After installing my Samsung network extender I can not connect to the internet on my iMac(direct connect to my router,not wi FI ).....I get a message on my Mac that another device is using my IP address .....what do I do to solve this problem

Have you tried turning everything off, computer too, and then unplugging everything?

Then plug the modem back in, wait, plug the router back in, wait, plug the extender back in, wait and once it's all set up, power the devices back on?

Enabled DHCP on the Mac, or change the Mac’s IP address, or contact the Apple Genius that disabled DHCP on the Mac and improperly configured it to use an IP address controlled by the router’s DHCP Server.
