I recently tried a USB modem but had to return it and cancel the service because the signal strength was so poor. I usually got one bar or could not connect most of the time in various areas where there shouldn't have been a problem, according to the coverage map. The modem was the smallest USB type, and I believe it was a 760. After cancelling the service, I talked to someone who previously had the same modem, and he told me that he also had a reception problem, but he switched to the larger USB type (UM175), and it worked great. My question is, is this true about the small USB modem, and would Verizon let me try the broadband service again with the better modem?
