I have the same problem. good signal everywhere except in and around the outside of my home. Now, I appreciate the link you shared to solve this problem; however, I already pay Verizon a fortune for phones, voice and data...and the only solution is to give another $250. I think I'll start looking to other providers when my contract is up. I don't travel much so as long as I have good coverage at home and around town, I am sure I can find a provider to fit the bill.

Hello,

Your home is causing some kind of interference.  That is perfectly normal for any wireless service provider.  You can have the same problem with any service provider pending on how they are setup in your area.  The answer is not to purchase a $250 3G extender, at least not until you know it is going to make a difference first.

What you should do instead is conduct something called a "Site Survey".  A site survey will help you map out the strong and weak points of your environment for signal strength.  Once you have everything plotted out you should be able to determine if a simple rearrangement will give you better results.  Likewise you will know if a booster or other equipment will have any positive impact too.

Site Survey:

Be sure to post your device model number for us if you want more help.  VZW has many mobile hotspot devices, when troubleshooting its always nice to know what you are dealing with.
