Remote Access to Jetpack (MiFi 6620L)

Can a computer that is connected to the Verizon Jetpack (MiFi 6620L) be accessed (both read and write) from another location over the Internet? I have a small dedicated server at a remote location that I need to be able to access from my main location. The remote site is within the Verizon coverage area with a solid 4G LTE signal. The required bandwidth to the remote site never exceeds 250Kbps. Also, can the JetPack be set up with a dedicated static IP address? Thank you.

RNOBIS, we love keeping you connected in more places with your jetpack device. You can connect up to 15 Wi-Fi enabled devices, including tablets, laptops, cameras, gaming consoles, music players and wearables to your device. However, you must be within 30 square feet of this device to secure a connection. As a result, you would be unable to connect if you are at a different location from the hotspot device.

Unfortunately, you did not answer my actual question. Please carefully read my question again. I want to access the 6620L remotely over the internet through the 4G LTE network, not with a wireless device that is more than 30 feet away.

I apologize for the confusion RNOBIS! I will make sure we get some clarity in regards to this question. At this time there is no way remotely get access to the network from another location. I would recommend purchasing another jet pack for that location. There is an option to get a static IP and there is a cost with that option. Please let me know if you would like to explore those options.

It is not clear to me how two jetPacks solves this issue, when they are located several miles apart?

A static IP address might help, but if I am in another location how would I access the JetPack with a static IP over the Internet?

NO!  Verizon Wireless uses a CGN carrier-grade NAT utilizing multiple middlebox NAT devices between your data device and the internet. As long as your Mifi device is showing an IPv4 IP address that starts with 100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255 there is no opt out or end user workaround.

> Also, can the JetPack be set up with a dedicated static IP address?

YES!  Contact Verizon Wireless Customer Service (800) 922-0204 and request a static IP address for the one time fee of $500. The only other option is to use a different ISP that offers the end user a public facing static IP address.
