Samsung SCH-LC11 VPN problems

I've updated the firmware with the latest release version and still am having problems with VPN access.  I saw this on a previous thread that was marked solved, but it clearly wasn't based on the posts, so I'm starting a new thread.  Any clues on this would be greatly appreciated as I am supposed to travel tomorrow and now won't have access to my local servers due to this problem.

The other thread explains the problem - it's the way network access works through the device. It doesn't have its own IP address, it shares the IP address through a NAT. And the network itself is a NAT also. PPTP does not work through a double NAT. To fix it Verizon would need to assign an IP address directly to the device, rather than shared access. The Novatel MiFi 2200 does this, and works with PPTP. Unfortunately, it is not LTE so is quite a bit slower.

Other VPN protocols appear to work, it is only PPTP that has problems. As the problem is not unique to the Samsung LC11. My IT department switched to Cisco VPN a year ago partly because of this. (It's also much faster.)

Thanks for the info and makes perfect sense. Now I at least know what the change was that caused me to stop working from my old device. Does anyone know if ipsec works on SCH-LC11 device?  We have that option, but I went and exchanged the hotspot out for the UML290 since my 14 day return window was up last night. Now I can VPN but keep getting drops. Ugggh!
