Hi , New to group. VZ support is so bad I thought I would see about getting some questions answered . #1 My connection keeps switching back and forth between "Broadband" and "National" the Broadband is quite fast and the national is slow !!!  Being rural My choices are few  so I was really hoping for some speed . I've been stuck in dial up [edit] for the last 9 years !!!  #2 , My usb modem  has an antena port on the side , is this for a stronger signal??  #3 , A 4' usb cable came with the modum , if I try to add any more cable to this to try to get a better signal the VZ Manager tells me the modum is disconnected. Thanks in advance for any replies . FrankM

Sounds like you're on the edge of a 3G area and an extended area. Take Jim's suggestion and try the antenna. It might make all the difference, and if it doesn't, you can return it.

Thanks Guys for the replys,My bedroom window looks right at the tower , but the area in the house where my PC is has a metall roof and the walls are earth bermed so pretty hard for signal to reach PC . I tried to add 10' of USB cable but system did not like that . I'll try the anntena system. Thanks, FrankM
