I'm another rural user who uses the NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess to access the internet. Does anyone know how I can update the firmware on this UM150 device?
I have a UM150 plus an external antennae, and right now for instance, I have a -97dBm for BroadBand Access and a -93 for NationalAccess.
Can I connect to NationalAccess instead of BroadbandAccess somehow? Nat. Access. seems to work better with XBL and streaming videos. (Also would investing in a repeater help with Xbox live at all?)
Also, I'm eligible for an upgrade, which mobile broadband device offers the best coverage?
Thanks for the help!

As far as I know, I don't think it is possible to force it to connect to NationalAccess and not BroadbandAccess. I think it chooses based on the location.
I have a USB760, I have never had a problem with it. It has a external antenna connection also.

You can set the settings to Broadband Access Only, however it will not connect to 1XRTT, also if your going to upgrade your device and get stuck in another contract why not purchase your device without a contract and pay $49.99 a month for your service instead.
You can get your data card and service from http://3gstore.com/lease
3Gstore is offering Verizon Wireless Service with no contract for $49.99, that away when 4G comes out from Verizon you want be stuck in a 3G contract. Just food for thought.
