This week purchased a Verizon Samsung Alias2 u750..... I wanted mobile tethering capability!
I need to tether to my Acer Aspire 3000 notebook w/WinXP Home SP3.
My Verizon store could not tether and now Tech Support says they cannot tether it and seek MS Support.... But MS no longer supports XP users - so I guess I'm screwed.
The error I'm getting is with the Network Adaptor - RAS Async adaptor 5.1.2535.0 driver....
The error says:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 30)."
This driver comes from the installation of the VZAccess Manager. This a Verizon VZAM program incompatibility issue that needs to be resolved - not necessarily a MS problem. This VZAM program does work on my Dell Desk Tower PC - so it is not a corrupt file/driver. VZAM driver appears incompatible with my 2005 Acer 3000 notebook/XP.
Not sure now how to proceed.... My Acer works just fine on WiFi/Ethernet but I need tethering flexability.
