UM175 USB modem. Connects but no internet

UM175 USB modem on a XP pc.  Installation went fine, activation and updates went fine.  I click connect and it connects, no error messages.  But internet explorer does not connect to the internet.  I uninstalled and re installed the software a number of times.  But this didnt help anything.  any ideas?

I think it may be a pc issue, do a ping test when the app you use for the model states its connected. Go to Start menu/ click on Run/ type in the letters "CMD"/ press ENTER on the black screen =(called the DOS prompt) type the following "PING WWW.GOOGLE.COM" of course without the quotations. If you get "UNABLE TO RESOLVE HOST" it means its the data card. If you get a PING REPLY FROM and a bunch of numbers, the data card is working fine and its your internet explorer, pc, anit virus or firewall blocking the internet. Hope that helps 😃
