USB 190 Modem & Mini 311 Netbook

I bought my 311 netbook with a 2 year agreement at 5G 59.99 plan. I found that full retail for the USB 190 modem is only $129. I have another laptop at home & I'm trying to consolidate since I will only be using one laptop at  a time. I was considering doing an esn change to the USB 190 modem if it will work with the 311 netbook? So my question is how do I use a USB 190 modem with a VZW netbook?

My guess is that you'd just do an ESN change from the Netbook to the USB card.

But will my network work with the external USB modem stick?

Does the netbook have a way to disable or turn-off the internal wireless modem?

I'm sure it does, most laptops do. If not, it may still work by reading both the USB card and the internal card.

Not sure if it is the same, but I currently have a USB720 that I use and when I asked about getting the Gateway LT2016u Netbook, was told by tech support that my USB 720 would be disabled when I registered the netbook.  I don't want to do this, so guess I won't get a netbook.

He understands that.  He wants to know if he can transfer his plan from the netbook to a USB190 and then plug the USB190 into the netbook.
