VZAccessManager finds Verizon Network (good signal strength). Chain:
1. Selecting "Verizon Wireless-VZAccess", clicking on "Connect WWAN"
button, then "Sign-up"
2. window "initialize your device"
3. window "updating your device"
3.1 window "another atempt to updating your device will start in x
seconds"
4. Attempt 2 of 2 "updating your device"
5. window "Connecting..."
6. window "Authenticating"
then error message:
"VZAccess is unable to connect at this time. Please try connecting again
later. Error QA901"
Clicking "OK", the "Sign-Up" window reports "RAS Error 721" (means: "no
response").
I found the tip to open TCP port 1723 in Windows Firewall, and it's the
first time the usb-modem LCD is blinking! But no success.
Second try: Adding VZAccessManager.exe to list of exception-programs (Firewall).
Modem LCD does not flash anymore, VZManager reports RAS error 678 (also
means: "no response").
Again at Windows Firewall, "extended" settings, disabling Firewall for
"Mobile Broadband Self Activation" and "Verizon Wireless - VZAccess"
completely.
Blinking is back. Result:
"You are not in a Mobile Broadband coverage area. Mobile Broadband
coverage is required to sign up on-line. Please call Telesales at (800)
786-8419 to sign up for service. Error QA904"
On a second try, we're back to QA901/RAS721, though stick LED is blinking
on all stages including "Authenticating". (Last message did not come again.)
What shall I do now???
