USB 760 and Vista- need to restart computer every use??

hi all,


i'm new to mobile broadband using a Verizon USB760 modem. My wife has a laptop with XP and when she disconnects the modem and goes back later the modem works ok. when i put it in to my laptop with vista it always says the modem is already and use and i have to restart the computer to get it to recognize the USB760 and go on line. My wife does not have that problem with XP, anybody have an idea what to do for this? we are using one air card and swapping it back and forth when needed.
