USB727 Modem not working properly. Need Help

So my modem is disconnecting and shutting off about every 10 min and i cannot figure out what to do.  I have tried everything imaginable i switched usb ports uninstalled, reinstall vzaccess manager, and called support which did nothing.  I really need help because this is the only form of internet we can get and we pay good money for it and we should not have to deal with these technical problems.  Customer support said it was the computer making the problems but i ran scans on everything and messed with the setting on everything so i think it is the modem. Funny how we are supposed to renew for a 2yr contract at this time and the thing is acting up on us.

Try using these steps below.

a.    Click Start , type power options in the Start Search box, and then click Power Options in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

a.    Under the selected power plan, click Change plan settings.

b.   Click Change advanced power settings.

c.    In the Power Options dialog box, expand USB settings, and then expand USB selective suspend setting.

d.   Enable USB root hub when the computer is plugged in to a power outlet, click Enabled in the Plugged in list, and then click OK.

Losing connection.  I've done everything Verizon has told me to do.  I even moved the computer right next to a window!

I get right in the middle of something then I lose my connection.  Pretty expensive payment for a connection I can't keep. I can't watch movies because it's so slow.  I am really disappointed with this and I don't know what to do.
