Using 4G

Have Verizon Internet Service by MiFi 4Glte.  Area supposed to have 4G (green) and opens that way but as soon as information starts passing reverts to 3G (purple).   Have tried changing location in home but no help.  Would another device be more successful?  Can an external antanae be used?  Can receiver be outside in weather extremes?  Would like to use 4G if possible.

I want you to be able to enjoy the incredible speeds of 4G, fatfred! Which MiFi device are you using? Have you recently completed any changes to your PC? Lastly, when was the last update completed on your device? I look forward to hearing back from you!

Have tried for some time to get 4G to work. My WiFi 4G shows green when

turned on but as soon as any information starts transmitting it goes back

to purple. Your local store checked the receiver and reports it is working

OK. It appears local reception is problem. I have recently purchased an

external antenna to see if it helps and will try it as soon as received.

If it works, fine. If not, do you have other receivers that might work

better. I had purchased your product and service after your sales people

sold me on the advantages of 4G. At this point I am disappointed but still

trying to make it work.

In rechecking your original message, I see you asked specific model. It

is Verizon 4G LTE MiFi 4510L.

Received and attached external antenna. Tried using in different locations

both inside house and thru window outside. Sometimes works as before.

Sometimes it will stay green while I send but cannot receive anything,

instead get reply no message received. No consistency. Antenna about 12

inches tall. Would larger one work better? I've heard of boosters to

receive and amplify a weak signal. Would something like that work? Can't

afford to buy additional equipment unless good chance it would work. Any

further ideas?

Hi fatfred!

Lets get to the bottom of this! I would like to see this working without to assistance of external antennas. What zip code are you located in? Do you try to use the device ever in difference locations?

ZIP 71964-8733. Have tried moving the receiving device and antenna within

my room but not at different address.
