VXAccess Manager Setup Assistant fails to create account(MacBook Pro & Novatel USB760

The VZAccess Manager's Setup assistant is unable to create an account for the Novatel USB760. I'm using a MacBook Pro (OS 10.5.6).

The Setup Assistant works fine on my other computer, a MacBook (OS 10.4.11); I went through the Setup Assistant steps, created an account and the VZAccess Manager allowed me to activate the account.

On the MacBook Pro, however, oddly enough, I am able to access the Internet WITHOUT the VZAccess Manager. This is accomplished via the System Preferences/Network prefs, where I select the Novate CDMA driver and click the "connect" button in the Network prefs dialog box. This apparently speaks to the USB760, and the sending/receiving indicators light up, and I'm able to browse the Internet and get email.

How can I use the VZAccess Manager software to control the USB760 and connect? (I am using the latest version of VZAccess Manager (v. 4.3.2)

I'm not familiar with Mac setup, but I can tell you that Windows will most definitely managed dial-up connections just as well as VZAccess Manager. The only thing you'll lose if MacOS manages the dialing is error messages. If you have signal/hardware issues causing the modem to drop, VZAM tells you more detail about it than Windows/MacOS will.
