Tech note,
I was having problems getting VZAccess Manager to see my PC770 aircard on a brand new Dell laptop (Studio 1550). After reinstalling the software several times as well as speaking the Verizon tech support (no help there), I compared the Dell install with a laptop that was working.
I noticed that the dial connection for the modem was not being installed. After looking around I noticed that the Telephony service was not running on the Dell. As a matter of fact it was disabled.
So I enabled it, rebooted and reinstalled VZAccess Manager. If finally was able to detect the aircard.
Hope this helps someone.
