Verizon connection snail slow

My Samsung Verizon 4G LTE is so very slow.  I live in a rural area.  My signal strength is good.  When I go to the city, I get fast service.  I think a landline connection would be faster.  What can I do?

I live in a rural area and my Verizon wireless service was working pretty well up until the beginning of May. Then it went "snail slow". After calling customer service three times, waiting for a call from technical support that never came, I gave up and went back to satellite internet with Wildblue Exede. I  cancelled my Verizon today.

Good luck.

If you live far away from a signal, you live far away from a signal. There is nothing at all you can do

Performance (Speed) is based on your equiptment and the local towers.  Since your equiptment appears to work fine in other areas that leaves us the conclusion that there is a signal strength issue with your local towers.

The best way to spend your time on this problem is to conduct a site survey.  From there you should be able to determine any dead zones around your home and expiriment with equiptment to improve it.  Sometimes all it takes is a re-arrangement of your room to improve your results.  Sometimes you will have to purchase external hardware like amplifiers and antennas. Sometimes it may be cheaper just to leave and purchase services through another service provider. This all depends on your enviornment and what you want to invest into your signal strength.

I live in New York City (midtown) and am surrounded by towers. I often have great coverage and 3/4 bars but 4G network has been down for the better part of two days now. The service interruptions are terrible.

Switch to 3g.. not really any interruption there.

I don't think the 4G problems are only in New York -- I connect in Yorktown, VA and it is a very welcome relief when my system connects to 3G rather than 4G.  It (3G) does not seem to be all that much slower but it is VERY MUCH more reliable.
