Why is my Jetpack 5510L slow (basically doesn't work) with 2 connections

I have had the Jetpack for over 6 months so obviously can't return it. When I connect 1 computer to it, it works OK but with 2 computers it slows down to a crawl and I either get no response or extremely slow response.
I have taken it to Verizon and they have reset it. I have downloaded the most recent software. I have reset it myself.
One computer is running Windows 7 Pro and the other Windows 8 Pro.
This is supposed to be my solution when I travel.

Can anyone provide some assistance?
