Using verizon's availability tool, I can ask about fusion availablility at an address.
I can come back a few minutes later and ask the same question and get the opposite answer.
Running in a number of addresses along a street, I get what seems like random noise.
My trials are for the city: Greenfield, Ca.
A sample of one of the oscillating addresses is 36320 Elm Ave, Greenfield.
I want to know how widely homefusion is available in greenfield, and from what I've surveyed
so far, it looks grim. But I suspect this may just be a flakey tool.

Sounds like a neat tool. Could you link us to more information about what it is and how to use it? I'd like to take a look for myself to see what its all about.

The tool is called "Check Service Availability".

You give it an address and it looks up the extended 9-digit zip code and then tells you whether the service is available. If it can't find the address, it does not return the extended zip code. I have not yet found an address that fails to return the extended zip code that gets a thumbs up for service availability. I'm not sure if that means anything.

More simply put if your in extended coverage area your screwed.
Well, yes. I would guess that extended coverage would not be strong enough to get this service to work well. But all of Greenfield (93927) is full coverage according to the verizon wireless availability map. And that makes some sense: Greenfield is on both sides of Hwy 101 road coverage *should* blanket the whole city. But the Fusion tool doesn't agree with that.
What I have figured out is that behind the fancy web page there is a database query to get the answer. The database can return "available", "not available" and "database timed out." If the database times out, it means there is something wrong in Verizon's computers -- and it tells you nothing about the coverage. The web form, however, doesn't understand how to display a time out so it tells you (erroneously) that the address is not covered. It means you should come back another day and try again. Thanks, verizon. I did that, and all over metropolitan greenfield is answering "covered". Apologies to Greenfield for saying that *any* of it is metropolitan.
