I have 2 phones and a mobile broadband modem, which I use at home.  We are at the edge of a tower service area, and the broadband service at home has always been marginal.  Recently, it has gotten worse, with no service at all or dropped connections, requiring the modem to be rebooted every couple minutes.  Reported to verizon and asked to cancel contract on the modem, keeping the phones.  They supposedly sent a tech to check the service, who reported that there had been some problem with the tower but it was fixed.  I am still having the same problems and reported again to verizon support, but they said the a $300+ cancellation fee would apply since the tech reported that service was restored.

This is total BS.  When my next contract expiration arrives, I am switching to AT&T.
