Need 5- 6 month mobile broadband access (occasional/ weekend) for MacBook use in 2010, in a rural NYS area. Have Verizon Wireless(Friends and Family on LG Glance) and local VZN landline, but can not use a dial-up service with a Mac.
1. Am considering purchase of the Novatel USB750 3G card for laptop broadband access. Does this really work with a Mac?
2. What would be the best and cheapest way to get broadband service for random and limited use? The $15/day plan is too expensive for my purposes.
Any suggestions?
note: Would consider dropping VZN service, for another provider, if necessary.
Thanks for any useful ideas.

You could try getting an unlimited data plan for your cell phone and use it as a modem.
