how do I reset my password on my Jetpack?   I am an old lady, hardly ever using my computer, yet it always shows that I use more than 5G each month!!

I don't stream, download music, movies, games.....nothing.    Does anyone think someone else is using my data minutes when I am online?  I was told to change my password for the data card (JetPack), but I don't even remember setting up an initial password.  So how do I change that password so only I use the data?

Changing the password is one issue.  Let us know which Jetpack model you have so we can look up the User Guide for you and confirm the steps.

Making sure only you are using the device will be accomplished by changing the password and keeping the new password to yourself.  You can go beyond that to further secure your device but its generally not worth it.

There currently are no good solutions for determining what is consuming your data when you are connecting your Jetpack to a computer.  VZW can send you data logs that provide summary information on various sessions, but nothing detailed stating X user went to Y website and consumed Z data.  The only way to get to the bottom of a data usage problem is to setup and install data monitors on your computer to tell you what is going on.  If you let us know what OS your computer is using then we can make some suggestions on how to proceed.

If you compare what a webpage looks like on a mobile device (tablet or smartphone) versus that same webpage on a computer or laptop you will see why the data use is higher on a computer/laptop. Home devices are LOADED with ads, banners, etc that will consume large amounts of data. Mobile sites are designed to minimize data usage on mobile devices.

I would speculate that general web browsing on a home computer is eating up your 5GB of data. That same experience on a mobile device would probably use 1 or 2.

My unit is called a; Verizon, Mifi 4 G MIFI4501L DA2. I went and bought

another 5 G so I should have enough data usage now but I still have to

change my password on the device. How do I do that?

This will bring you to the WiFi security area of your Jetpack.  From this menu you can configure a new WiFi password that your devices will use to connect to the Jetpack.
