I have tried numerous times to "mute" a thread I've previously participated in when I'm no longer interested in getting email notifications for it. However, this doesn't work at all and my forum account never shows any muted content. The only way I can opt out of email notifications for a particular thread is to locate the thread in my forum subscriptions and then unsubscribe from that thread.
Wouldn't be a problem, except I'm here a lot and one thread I literally had to scroll through 45 (!) pages of content in my account before I could find the thread in question to unsubscribe from. ๐ฎ

Finally figured it out myself. You just have to wait long enough for the page to finish loading after picking the mute option in the menu and eventually a confirmation appears saying the thread has been muted.
