We have a community account for posting questions. We like that because why do we have to associate something with our account???
Today (and quite often) it doesn't seem to let me login. I know the password is correct, it's kept in a password manager. I manually entered, I cut and pasted it, they all got rejected. So I clicked to send a password request, got the email (said would be active for 30 minutes), clicked the link and it gave me a place to reset the password.
I entered a password only to get message below.
So here I am, having to create another new account based on my login JUST to post that something is radically wrong. What's wrong with verizon that you have to go through such hoops just to ask a support question!!!!

Hi dz20,
Can you please tell us the username for the account that experienced the problem?

I just encountered this exact same problem. I've had a Verizon community account for at least a decade, though I haven't used it in years. When I tried to sign in, it wouldn't accept the existing password, so I asked it to reset. I gave it my email address, and in the email it sent, it correctly identified my username as "guyr". I clicked the Reset Password link in the email, and it took me to a page that allowed me to enter a new password twice. When I did that, I got the exact same message as the OP:
"You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action."
Here's another strange thing. I found this current post, and wanted to add this reply. But it kept asking me for a username, and wouldn't let me use my original one - obviously, it thinks that username is already taken. So I typed in a new one: "guy-rouillier". And it let me in here immediately to type this reply - no password required!

Not sure what they did, but after several failed attempts, they were able to do something that allowed me to get past that permission issue that I got with the password reset link.
Hopefully they took good notes because either the problem has come back globally or they had to something specific per account.
Like you, I used a different account (this one) to post the problem about the one having issues. I ended up changing the email associated with each account (community account vs the one used for my verizon login) so I could easily differentiate emails directed at either account and not sure if having the same email associated with each was part of what caused the original problem. BUT they were eventually able to get passed it while they both were set that way.

Having the same problem. Haven't been on the community for awhile, and got 4 emails yesterday about earning annual badges. I got 3,4,5 & 6 year badges all at the same time. Go figure. I was not able to log directly onto the community, and clicking the email got me the save red banner as above, BUT NO OFFER TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD.
GOK what that password might be. The user name went with my mindspring email address which died about 7 years ago. So even if you sent a reset email I wouldn't get it.
So far, it's letting me sign on with my actual Verizon account, but i still can't change anything in my community account.

I have a fairly new account, like only a few days old, and have this problem.
I used my password manager to generate a random password but for some reason it didn't record the password. So when I went to get back into the account, I couldn't. My bad.
But then the password reset link takes me to the screen that the OP screenshot and gives me that message after entering a new password. So here I am, Wendt2226 now Wendt2226-v2

I have a account but I dont remember the password. When I go through the process to change it I get the message that is stated in the subject line. I am referring to user name wfs29223.
I have started a new user name to post this to you. I would loike to have wfs29223 used for my main community account.
Thank You
