Origin and destination calls/texts within Canada

I've read a lot of posts trying to get a clear answer on my question. The XL 16GB plan has been suggested to me and it indicates including Canada & Mexico. My main concern is Canada. If a call or text is originated while I am in Canada from my Verizon # to another Canadian number, is that included in the XL 16GB plan, or do I have to purchase Travel Pass?

All of the information I've read is somewhat contradictory and indicates an origin of one country with a destination in another unless you have travel pass. If I have to purchase travel pass, then what is the monthly cost per line?

I am presently on a package that is no longer available (Nationwide Family Share & Canada) yet covers me while I am in Canada and I can make calls within Canada to a Canada phone, without Travel Pass, and it is included in my current package. Same goes for text messages.

I look forward to your reply.

Making sure you have an understanding of the data plans available is very important.  If you have the XL 16GB data plan your calls, and text will be unlimited and you will not have to purchase the travel pass. Does this provide clarity? Also, here's a link with more information about travel pass to clear any additional confusion.  https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/international-travel-faqs/#travelpass1
