Will Message+ usage over WiFi trigger Travel Pass?

If I have Travel Pass on my phone, have it on airplane mode, and use the Verizon Message+ app to send a text message OVER WIFI (that is, while not connected to the cellular network), will that trigger a $10 24-hour period ?
