Does dialing *228 can picking option 1 or 2 make u get it faster? Or should ii keep trying *#*#checking#*#* which is faster??

I don't believe *228 does the OTA updates - it only reprograms the cellular radio portion of the phone (I might be wrong about that). Check in Settings > About > System Updates and ask the phone to update to see if it's available that way.

*228 option 1 programs your phone, option 2 updates roaming. *#*#checkin#*#* only checks to see if the network is trying to tell your phone anything. This may get you your update slightly faster, but you won't get it until Verizon decides to push it to you. The OTA rollouts happen usually over the course of a couple weeks and in no particular order. Unfortunately, it comes down to: when you get it, you get it.
