And can i get a credit for the days I have not been able to use the Internet outside of my home?
for 3 or 4 days, I have not gotten 3G AT ALL. While I cannot use it in my home (have to connect to the home wifi) I used to be able to get a steady signal outside of my house. Now the 3G symbol never shows up (let alone 4g), inside or outside my home, even where it used to before. so I can't use the Internet outside of of my house. I paid all his money for a phone that had full access to the Internet, and now I cannot use it. (No matter how good the signal, internet doesn't work unless it says 3G)
How do I fix this (I have tried a few things - toggle airplane mode, reboot, change batteries - idk if those are supposed to help) but the 3g never shows up. How do I get the 3G back?

LB2,
Let's try this. From the home page press the MENU button (lower left corner) and then press Notifications. Then make sure that the Wi-Fi is turned OFF (grayed out) and that the Mobile Data is turned ON. (orange color). You do not want both of them on at the same time.,
Go back to the home page and go to Settings>Wireless & Network and click on Mobile Networks (bottom of page). On the page that comes up Use Packet Data and Data roaming should both have a red check mark. Also click on System Selection and choose CDMA Mode. Then click on Home only. Later if this does not fix it so you get 3G come back here and choose Automatic.
Go back to the home page and see if 3G comes up.
Also, try calling VZ to see if the network is down.

(had to get a new name since verizon insists my other name is not activated.)
Wildman, I was posting to see if others had the same problem with 3g on this phone. But thanks for the reply....
Jerry, thank you for your helpful reply. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I will try when I am not at home, but the 3G didn't come up and i couldn't access the Internet. I tried home only and automatic. nothin. Network isn't down, my husband has an iphone and 3g has always worked for him. Guess I'll have to bring it in to Verzion to see if they can fix it. I hope they give me a credit, because this is ridiculous. Nothing but trouble with this {word filter avoidance} phone.

Here's another idea turn off Wi-Fi. I noticed on my Charge phone when I was connected to Mobile Data (4G here) and then I turned on Wi-Fi, and was connected to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi took over. Wi-Fi seems to have priority over Mobile Data. In other words Wi-Fi stopped the Mobile Data even though when I looked at the Notification screen Mobile Data was still ORANGE as if it was connected and being used.
Let me ask, is your Wi-Fi turned off when you are trying to connect to 3G? If not, turn it OFF and try again to connect to 3G.
Just go to the pull down notification screen and make sure Mobile Data is orange and Wi-Fi is NOT orange.

LB2, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Is this issue happening just in one location? Have you called in to technical support to have a troube ticket submitted? If you are unable to pick up 3G anywhere, then it sounds like a setting in the phone is causing your issue. Like another poster suggested, turn off wifi to see if that allows you to pick up 3G.
Let us know if that helps.
