3g problems anyone?

Have my droid x here and am having problems getting a signal.  1-2 bars at best.  Called verizon and we went through restarting the phone, etc.  nothing worked.  They said there was a 3g data problem going on now!  Anyone else having this problem.  Hope the phone is not a dud!  Am leaving tomorrow on vacation and it would stink not to have a reliable phone.

What is the zip code you are in? I bet one of the customer care people on these forums & look it up for you. See when possibly the issue would be fixed.

Made a huge mistake by exchanging my Incredible for the X.

I cannot access 3G either with the X and had no problem with the Incredible.

I'll be ordering the Incredible again today and returning the X!

Regardless where I am...I cannot get 3G coverage (NY/NJ Metro area).  Even when the phone says 3g (1-2 bars),, data support fails.  Every zip code I give to Verizon, they claim is marginal.  So , absolute 3G coverage appears to be a misrepresentation.  And Verizon considers themself the most reliable 3G provider...an absolute and obvious lie; corroborate this by traveling to various locations and see that coverage issues remains.

I am having a similar problem.  Phone works great but the internet drags or freezes on the 3G.  I fluctuate from 3 bars down to 1A and back to 1bar on the 3G in matter of seconds without moving.  Also, the google navigation takes forever to fix my location and get directions.  Tried updates, *228, verified roaming is on and nothing helps.  Thinking of switching to a different phone.
