In the last 3-4 weeks I've started to have problems with my Droid Bionic 4G LTE loosing data connectivity intermittently in the Minneapolis / St. Paul VerizonWireless area. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem as well? The connectivity is consistently hit and miss throughout the entire metro and suburbs areas. 4G LTE connection good for 5-10 mins with data connectivity (blue signal color on the 4G LTE) and then the 4G LTE turns from blue to white and the data connection is lost! Any ideas what could be causing this problem. I have a friend with the exact same problem, so I'm pretty confident that it is not the phone, but rather Verizon Wireless' network. Note that the phone generally (98% of the time) retains the 4G LTE signal, but the "data" connectivity seems to "disconnect". Over subscription issue on the backside of the VzW Network?

I upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 for the Droid Bionic (the leaked version). I've not had single problem since. I would highly recommend this if your still experiencing problems. Of course, I'm not responsible for anyone who accidently "bricks" their phone. However, this being said it is realatively easy to upgrade to the new leaked ICS 4.0.4. And it is possible to roll back to Gingerbread 2.3.4 if you need to. Check out videos on Youtube.com

5.9.905.XT875.Verizon.en.US is suppose to be rolled out by the 20th to the Droid Bionic from the sounds of it...this is suppose to fix the problem from what I've been told.

The latest OTA did not seem to address the issue. I live in Orange County, CA and have (and still am) experiencing this same issue since early June.

Same problem in central NC. The data signal goes on/off all day long, with 3 bars, and not moving. I used to have no problem until about 2 weeks ago when I updated to the latest version: 5.9.905.XT875.Verizon.en.US. Has anyone had any success talking to Verizon? Any answers?

Same problem in NC... The problems just started last month for me. I picked up the bionic when it first released. Never had an issue until recently about the time the .905 release was announced. I'm curious if the issue was created with the rolling updates and Verizon can't handle two different bionic software versions? It's extremely annoying with the constant white to blue and blue to white signal indicator and loss of connection

Same issue in Los Angeles Ca. I noticed the problem a couple of weeks ago and it's very frustrating because it affects my Hotspot feature when tethering my tablet devices

Been struggling with this in Orange County, CA, too! Haven't been able to even upload a picture to Facebook without an issue. I can't get directions to work unless I pull sit and wait sometimes up to 10minutes. Quite frustrating after the level of network availability I've become used to since I started using the phone in November.

When the Indicator Goes to White it means the phone is not syncing with the Google Servers it could be a Google thing if it's happen all the Time..Possibly and it could be crews are in the area working to fire up more tower with 4G..b33

I have to disagree. This is a pretty wide spread domestic issue no matter what coast you are on. Network Unavailable is happening whether syncing or not syncing, and only seems to be affecting teh Bionic at this time. Google servers don't differentiate between Bionic, Razr, etc...

Jay it plainly says in the Razr's Manual that when the Data Indicator weather it's 3G or 4G Shows Blue your Synced with the Google Servers when it's White you are Not..
I seen this Just a Week ago but it's not something New on my Droid X the Indicator Does the Same thing an when it does you can't do Jack.!
When i asked a Rep that i Know what could Causing it to Flip Back N Fourth over in Wichita an he Told me that the Techs were Working on the Towers Getting the ones Switched to the New System that had not been done when the Crew were there the First Time That was Year ago when the First set of tower were switched on..
So that's all know Jay! All i can suggest is Look around in your Area an see if you can see crews working on the Towers or go to your Local Store and Ask what's Going on or Call Customer Service Option 3 for Tech Services an ask them..
Hopefully something gets fixed soon.. b33

I appreciate yoru repsonse, but I have a feeling that the Rep is shining you on his explanation.
If they are 'working' on switching tech from old to new on a specific tower, then logically everyones service should be affected on the LTE side. However, it only appears to be affecting Bionic, some RAZR, and now purprtedly one model of HTC (I can't recall which model right now). If the rep is stating that the towers are being worked on, then everyone, regardless of what flavor 4LTE phone would be affected, and simply they aren't.
If you look do a search in the forums here, you'll notice this is coast to coast data loss connection issues, and it all started 2-3 weeks ago. Too much of a wide spread coincidence (to me) that seems to center around Android phones that are not ICS, and happened at the same time, and Motorola based..
Perhaps they are indeed working on a conversion in your area, and I wish you luck and hope it works for you. But again, the forums indicate this starting to become a well known issue affecting mostly the Bionic no matter where you live.

I'm having same issue here in Long Beach, CA. Also, it seems my phone frequently goes into this syn mode, completely dropping all data connection. I thought I was the only one having this problem until I found you guys here. WTH, I pay well to have my phone work with 4G data. If Verizon doesn't provide the service you have contracted for then of course, they are in breach of contract - that is why they all act as if they don't know what is going on. Otherwise, Verizon would be legally obligated to credit or compensate you for their breach of NOT providing the service to you which they are contracted to provide.

Having the same issue here in NW Indiana too, and it seems like everybody has had the issue for roughly the same time frame. I called tech support yesterday, and they suggested that I get a new SIM card, which hopefully i'll do tomorrow. Hope that fixes it. I downloaded the update last night, hoping that would fix it, but I had the same issue all day today.

If you get a new Sim Be careful handling it.! the Gold area is very Sensitive to Static Electricity in our Bodies & the Oils in our fingers an one touch to the Sim can Mess it Up to were the phone won't Work as it should or at all..When i Remove my Sim Cards i use an X-Acto Knive to cut the Tabs.. But i do this under calm conditions an when i am not in a Hurry.! it can be done an it make taking the Sim out of the Card a hole heck of allot easier..b33

I might have to try getting a new sim card also. Anyone have luck with the new sim card? This past Father's Day I almost threw my phone becuase I kept losing signal while watching the game on ESPN. I was in an area with perfectly good 4G and I wasn't driving or anything.

I finally got my sim card replacement, and right now I'm sitting in the parking lot of the Verizon store typing this response on a vzw 3G iPad, because my bionic is still having the issue, seemingly worse now than it has been over the last few days.

talk about ready to throw phones, mine was about to go yesterday for the same reason. I'm tired of not having signal. My phone also has a tendency to over heat. I'll feel it getting hot in my pocket.

That could be a app running in the Background or it could be your display coming on for no parent reason...
