On May 14, 2011, the day the DROID CHARGE was released, I purchased 4 new phones and 4 new Verizon data plans. 9 days later, my DROID CHARGE still has NOT been activated. I have spent many hours on the phone with “customer service” and “technical support” as well as 1 hour at one Verizon store and 3 hours at another, all to no avail. I have put in multiple technical support tickets. Most have been summarily “closed” without the problem being resolved. Apparently, Verizon employees can’t help customers.
What good is the phone IF IT DOES NOT WORK??? Don’t waste your money! It may be a nice $299 paper weight, but that it all it has been good for between May 14th and May 23rd.
This is a piece of JUNK! If you want a phone you can actually use to make and receive calls, STAY AWAY FROM THE DROID CHARGE!

Take it in or ship it back to exchange for another phone(s). You also have a 14 day window to exchange for a different phone model.. Good luck. I do not work for or am any way affiliated with VZW.

Another thing you can try, call CS and ask tech to share the programming info to manually program the device, sometimes this works where other methods dont..
If this doent help then I agree that returning device is the best solution before the return window expires...

If you haven't returned the phone by now then send it in under warranty because your 14 Day No questions asked return has expired. 12 messages about the phone not activating is a little far fetched. IMO

I got hung up during the activation process as well but managed to figure out what the problem was. I believe I just had to call a 1-800 number or something to activate the phone (from a separate line). It was a step I completely missed because I was going off the manual that came with the phone, instead of a sheet that ALSO came in the verizon packaging that said something like "Do this stuff first!" I recall the page having a thick red border around it. Just do what it says! Hope this helps!
