Why does my Droid think that it has to have wifi connection when I'm on 4G service to update apps? I have to drive to an area to connect to any wifi spots.

you might have your Market and or individual app settings set to only update over WiFi. Check your Market setting and disable "update over WiFi only" and also check any individual apps for their particular settings. Its also worth taking a look at any data/battery settings to make sure you are not limiting your data to any "WiFi only" options that you may have,,,

Do you need wifi to update any apps at all, or just certain ones? I know that certain apps require you to be connected to wifi, these are usually very large apps.
