Accessibility- Why did I check it? cannot undo

I stupidly checked the Read Out or what ever that is in the Accessibilty under Settings, now the freakin phone will not shut up talking , telling me everything I touch and will not let me in to uncheck the read out option in Accessibility. How do I fix it before I put it in the garbage disposal ??  thanks for your help.

I am on phone with Tech Support and they are completely stumped, anybody out there smarter than tech support?

Now I am ticked off!  Why would the idiot tech support guy transfer me to Motorola, not give me the phone number and transfer me to a CLOSED OFFICE !  I AM FURIOUS !!!!

OK, I was so ticked off. I held my phone in my hand, i opened settings and when I clicked Accessibility, it says 'Accessibility' and it turns RED. So I am just about to throw this phone in the garbage disposal, for no ungodly reason- I decide to double click it and WA-LA, it opened up!!!  OMG, it opened up, so I clicked the READ OUT and it just says READ OUT and turns red. So I double clicked it and it unchecked!!!  then I double checked the Accessibility check box too !!

ITS FIXED.  please do not EVER open up the Accessibility Area on yur Droid X!

Accessibility turns on and offf for me.

You could try Powering down (Long Press Power button and press Power Off) and the Powering back up.

You could also try Pulling the battery for 20 seconds and then powering p

Accessibility does not seem to have a High Contrast mode for light text on a Dark Screen.

Nahh all you had to do was double tap it and because i always have my phone on vibrate i some how didnt notice i checked that option and it was making me double click everything which made me really mad i called moto tech support and they couldnt figure it out. I then double clicked it and it unchecked, gotta love tech support

Guys, there's nothing wrong with the phone.

I ran into this s while back and yeah, I went nuts for an hour trying to figure out how to turn off that madding voice (Angela, how the hell did you make do many posts with that voice? You must have been on another computer.)

This is a case of when all else fails, RTFM. Or more politely, read the manual. Granted, that info could have been a little more, err..accessible...
