I totally agree with mdram4x4r battery life to stink. If you want your battery life to stink, use an ATK.
I made a point to see how much life I got out of my battery yesterday. The phone was on for just over 24 hours and I had over 4 hours of use. This is with the stock battery.

I disagree that battery life (sucks) with a properly used Task Killer, the best results when using Task Killer is to set as below. maybe with some they run into issues but I have used my device with these settings since day one without so much as a issue, as long as you set any system apps to your exclude list the device will run without issues and have better battery life that without one.

don't put that it's malicious that's telling them the wrong thing. you should keep your personal opinion out of the post and report fact.
not to mention you have sprint why are you even on these boards?

FYI...I used ATK for better than 3 months and was somewhat happy with the results. Then I stumbled upon an app called
Juice Defender. It works by controlling the time your phone receives data. You are able to set how often your phone syncs data
which is the reason for the battery life issues. With 'bump" charging my phone every morning and moderate use daily, my phone typically has over 75% charge late into the evening. I am able, if I want, to recharge the battery every other day. I have found no other app that helps more than this one. Try the free version and see for yourself.

i use none of these apps and get similar battery use. 60-80% at the end of the day.

I will have to try it both ways it seems it depends on how you use your phone what is better I have only had my Incredible for a little over a month so I am not sure what is best.

chas - I was just getting ready to create a new post (ATK or no ATK) There seems to be disagreement over if it is good or bad. I am so frustrated with my lack of battery life right now. I think I will do the same and try it today without the ATK and see if that actually extends the battery life. Anyway - I just wanted to thank you for bumping this thread back up to the top.

I also say it is wise to try something and see how it works for you before making a decision because all users may view things diffrently, some use a short time and makes there decision before they really give the possible solution a chance.
There is a number of diffrent configured devices out there and at times it only takes one app to interact with another in the wrong way that can make you draw a conclusion, I do all my test of new software with a clear device and if all function well and then I load a app and then I see a issue I have already isolated the new software and then know I need to check out additional apps.
Here is a list of items that the device list as a power drain, as you can see ATK isnt even registering...

I remember when I bought my phone, the first thing the rep told me was to use ATK. I've used it since so I wouldn't know if it's good or bad.
Sometimes the only thing I think I gain from using it is seeing all the apps I never use running.
There's clearly a split on pro or anti ATK usage. I try to keep my apps limited and try not to overly use the web and things like that and I can get a day out of it easy with moderate texting and few calls. I'm not a huge phone user for data or calls. I text moderately and that's it. I have to charge it every night.
The only thing I noticed that really kills my battery is if you're out of reception or poor reception and it seems to be seeking for connection.
One other thing is to make sure you don't have bluetooth, wi-fi, or gps turned on when you're not using them. That can kill your battery too.
The biggest drain though is what I already mentioned. When I have poor-no reception.
Other than that using ATK doesn't seem to do much on my phone. I charge it overnight every night anyway. Those that say they could get two days out of it on the stock battery baffles me. I'm sure it's possible, but I may have to call **bleep**. I think if I sat my phone down and didn't touch it, it'd last for maybe a day and a half...including over night. That's a big maybe.

As for why I'm here... why not? There's lots of non-VzW customers on these forums. Plus I'm bored and most websites are blocked where I'm at, but this one isn't.
