Since the update to my Charge I am unable to browse the internet through a WiFi connection. All I get is "Web Page Unavailable". I know that the connection is working correctly as I use it on other computers. Not to mention when I am connected to the WiFi connection, the apps i have installed on my Charge function correctly such as the App Store and I am able to download and update apps through Wifi. The only issue is when I am trying to use the browser to connect to web sites. I have tried the stock browser as well as Dolphin with no luck. Help!

saw a similar post on another forum ... here's his solution: "Fixed my own problem! For some reason there was some garbage text in the wifi proxy settings. Cleared it out and all is well. D'oh!"

Go look at my latest post in the following thread with regard to leaving BOTH the DATA and WiFI enabled at the same time whenever you want to use WiFi.
This may be the answer to your question.

I have tried browsing with just WiFi turned on by itself as well as both WiFi and Mobile Data turned on at the same time. While both are on, the WiFi shows as being active and my apps will work but I am still not able to browse.

Travis,
I mised your opening statement, "since the update" so try this. Several folks have fixed a problem that occured after the FP1 update by re-booting their phone three times in a row. Try it, it's easy.

Thanks jco23! Worked perfectly. There was junk text in the proxy field under WiFi settings. I guess when the update installed it added the line "wifi_sleep_policy" to the proxy line. Removed the text and left it blank and it's back up and running great. I've been scouring the internet and wasn't able to find this. Thanks again.

Thanks JCO 23
I too was unable to browse the internet on WiFi. I tried many of the solutions I found on different discussion threads. I read your solution and decided to give it a try. Unbelievable, I did have text in the proxy setting. Checking on my PC I determined I did not require a proxy number. So, I erased the proxy number and I am now able to access the internet through WiFi.
Thank you very much for posting this solution.

Wow, everybody having this same issue and I thought I was alone. Okay, so I too have text in my proxy settings and the port as well. I guess these are in by default. I have now removed the text from both settings and things seem to be working . I will know more later. This was just the tip of the iceburg for all the issues that this device is plagued with. Like another issue is device shuts itself off while taking photos. The only way to restart is to completely remove battery for ten seconds then restart. That is after every photo snap.

This is going to sound really stupid. What are the proxy settings and how do you find them. And how do you know something is garbage. If it is how do you take it out?
Also, is the latest update to 4.1.2?
Thank you.
