My only goal today was to change the phone number for both my wife and myself to a local number. I called Verizon and they performed the change on their end. After they made the changes to both phones (which took them less than 2 minutes), they had me perform *228, Option 1 on each phone. I did both phones at the same time. Once the phones restarted, both of them showed the factory default settings. All my applications were gone, all settings were back to factory state, and contacts had to be re-imported. Nothing was there. Makes no sense.
During the call with Verizon, they said "It should not do that". "We [Verizon], have no idea why that happened, sorry".
Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.
