All SMS deleted

I just noticed that all my SMS messages were deleted  What happen to them and can I get them back

you can try to reboot the phone, but i doubt you will ever see them again :smileysad:   did you recently install or use for the first time any new apps? if so, i would dump whatever that app is. this happened to me once, right after i had installed a ringtone app. i suspected it was related so i uninstalled the app.

This is a known issue, not exclusive to the Droid Incredible.  I'm guessing you had hundreds if not thousands of SMS messages on the handset when this happened.

 

There is software which will backup your SMS messages available in the Android marketplace.

 

I recommend that you not retain more than 200 messages on the handset at a time.  (Whatever for would you need all those messages to be accessible anyway?)

Even if using a market app for sms, the stock version still keeps them. There are settings in the stock messaging program to keep it from deleting messages after 200 are on the system. You can shut that option off totally, raise the number,  of choose a number per conversation before it auto deletes.
