All calls automatically forwarding to voicemail - why!

My phone is acting strange, I have three issues that showed up all at once; the main issue listed first:

  1. All my calls are forwarding to voicemail automatically - phone never rings or vibrates
  2. my slide to unlock feature doesn't come up anymore... at all...ever
  3. my home icon no longer takes me back to the home screen - just vibrates a little and nothing happens
I have tried turning the phone off and on.
I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in.
I have tried starting in "safe mode".
I've tried calling voicemail and searching for an option to turn off some sort of do not disturb feature that might have somehow been activated - didn't find a feature like that to change.
Nothing is working.
I've trolled around searching in forums and on line and the only reference I can find to my main issue of the calls automatically forwarding to voicemail all relate to Google Voice which I do not use and to my knowledge do not have loaded on the phone (unless it came with the phone pre-loaded).
Anyone have any idea what the issue is?  Please help...this is causing big problems!!!
Thanks in advance.

You may just want to take it in to a Verizon store if you live close to one.

You could try a total factory reset of the phone, which is essentially starting over. you'll have to re-load your contacts, apps, media, everything. Or take it to the store.

Before you do anything, call Customer Service. It sounds like something is going on with the service, not your phone. Can't say about the other issues you are having.

Google Voice doesn't have to be installed on your phone in order for you to use the service with your number. And at first, I was thinking that some unscrupulous soul might have hijacked your phone number with their own Google Voice account, but since the calls are going to YOUR voicemail, this scenario isn't likely. But it got me to thinking that it's certainly possible, and not all that hard to do.

No?

If you can got hrough and back up all your contacts apps and such, I would do a factory reset. They would suggest the same instore if nothing easy resolved the issue. Might as well be prepared.

I can't help you out on the other problems but when you open a contact, there's an 'actions' section and an 'information' section. Under the 'information' section is a 'send to voicemail' option. If you have that on for each contact, everything is going to go to voicemail. I don't know if there's a place where you can default all contacts to go to voicemail or not (I've only had my Incredible for a day) but I'll bet there's a place to do that. If I find it, I'll let you know.

Good luck with the other problems. Smiley Sad

I'm having these exact same problems.  If the person with the original problems could post anything they've learned about how to fix these issues, or if anyone else has any knowledge about these problems and how to fix them, please post them...this is really confusing me.

Are you guys using Google Voice? That could be the problem. If your calls are forwarded through Google Voice & Voice is being sent to VM

I don't think I'm using google voice (not to my knowledge).  If I am, though, how would I fix the problem, and how would I cancel Google Voice?

Sorry for all the troubles you have mentioned with your calls going straight to Voice Mail. The first troubleshooting step we like to try in this instance is simply ensuring your phone is powered off momentarily, at least once a day. This gives your phone not only the chance to reset itself, but also refreshes the profile your number has stored on our network, all allowing the network to better locate the phone and send it calls. At this time, I recommend a soft reset by simply removing the battery (while the phone is on) and re-inserting it after a two minute wait. If that does not resolve the issue, please feel free to contact us once again for additional troubleshooting.

Thanks everyone, and make it a great day!
