Android 2.2 up grade

So is this available for all android phone? and if so how do I get it?

No the update will not be available for all Android based phones. See http://blogs.computerworld.com/16310/android_22_upgrade_list for some "guesses" as to what will be available.

When the update becomes available it will most likely be distributed as an OTA (Over The Air) update and your phone will notifiy you that it is available.

Why doesn't VZW do like they did with 2.1, offer it from their web site to update manually. You know why I ask because which numbers will be the first and why those numbers were chosen before my number. Or my friend next to me got it before I got the update. So, why not just release it and let the mayhem commence

The latest rumor came this morning, claiming August 6th for Droids, Incredibles & X's:

Rumor: Android 2.2 Hitting DROID1, Incredible and DROID X Next Friday?
