Android 2.3.3 and System 4.5.596 blow...

I received Android 2.3.3 and System 4.5.596 on my DroidX last nite.

The graphics are nice, but the rest of it Blows.

A whole raft of inconveniences are now causing much aggravation on my phone.

-  Much slower system in general.

-  Apps screen (where all apps are matrixed) very slow to move, slow to scroll, won't respond smoothly to my finger drags

-  Much faster battery depletion (from 50% battery loss in a 12 hour day to 90% battery loss in a 6 hour session  (GPS, Bluetooth etc are OFF)

-  Frequent system freezes and force closes on apps

-  Much slower Power On routine

Yuck....

I haven't experienced any of those problems.  Well, I don't actually know about the battery. Some days I use my phone alot and can't get through the day without a charge.  Then again on my light use days, I still have 60+% left at the end of the day.

My biggest complaint was when sending a text, I can no longer bring up my entire contact list.... but of course this was designed into GB.  Minor, so I can live with it.

I did everything requested of me to do. I also have had nothing but trouble since the latest download. The phone freezes up, I can't receive or send calls when it does this. In fact, I had someone call me while it was frozen and the phone just kept ringing, didn't even go to voicemail. The only thing I can do is to take the battery completely out to reboot it and even then I sometimes have to do this a few times before I can get it to work! The phone also shuts itself off from time to time, at least 3 times per day. So I bring it to the Verizon store in Mohawk Commons while it was frozen and spoke to some guy who took the battery out, replaces it then tells me the phone is working! He looked through my apps and immediately began to tell me that lots of people who have this app or that app are having trouble and I should take them out to fix the trouble! He assures me he's heard nothing about Droid X problems after the gingerbread update! I request a new phone since it's still under the one year warranty AND I have the $7.99 per month warranty plan as well. He says he can't do it because he couldn't duplicate the trouble!!!! I reminded him that he held the phone in his hands while it was stuck!!!! He tells me to do the factory reset and I took the phone and went home. I called the tech line at VZ. The tech tells me that they've had nothing but problems with the Droid X since the gingerbread download! She tells me to do the factory reset and should fix the problems for a while! I do this, have to put all my stuff back on the screens and redownload some of the apps from the market. It worked fine for a couple of weeks and now it's doing the same things and 1 new trouble: I dial a telephone # and the call ends immediately even before ringing! I've got to admit, I'm very, very disappointed with this phone and the way Verizon is handling the situation. I've been a customer since VZW began. I've spent a bazillion dollars, always on time, never late and this is the thanks I get.
