Hey Verizon,
Is there any chance the 2.3 update for the Droid X will happen in my lifetime?
Thanks,

Nope, 2.3 will be released the day after you're gone. Um.....we're all sorta waiting.

I think the "smart money" is betting NO. The Droid X is approching 9 months old.... however, it is possible. I'm hoping they do but not betting on it.
Best of Luck to all us "X" owners,

I would say because the Droid X is being listed as reachng its end of its life and all the new devices schelduled to be released so soon, I would guess that they might relaease one more update before completion but it probally wontl be at the top of the list

Gosh, I've forgotten what 2.3 is supposed to have in it. Is it even called that anymore?
It would be fine with me if there were no update for the X at this point in time. There's enough people coming up with third-party apps and other "things" to keep improving the Droid X as it is now.
Of course, I'm curious as to whether or not the X will see 2.3, don't get me wrong.

To be honest I just see a list of new complaints about how the OS changed features that the 2.2 had, just like the way a number of users did when 2.2 came out... A OS upgrade should change from the original design of the previous OS because if it the same that doesnt make it a OS update, it will be more of a revision to fix bugs.
Once a OS is redesigned and recoded to change look and features always lead to software compatibility issues that need to be worked out by the developers. This is why when a new build comes out a revised SDK has to be created to continue support.
Lets view it realistically, I just see another 2.2 fiasco... Menus being changed and user complaining that features was removed...
Good Luck, I will keep my stable 2.2.1 for now.

LOL, get Mort in on that session, too....
Although I think he sorted out whatever was happening to him. Something about this thing called "IE9", maybe? Can't be sure....
All in fun, as usual (till someone gets an eye put out),
