Android gmail message disappeared

Just been using my incredibe 2 for one week now.  Today I sent an email from my PC based account to my phone gmail account.  I read the email on the phone coupla times. 

20 minutes after the second time I read it, I looked for it again.  It disappeared.  Can't find it on the phone or the gmail site.

Any suggestions here?  Can I rely on this email system?

Thanks for your inquiry. Do you think that there may be a small chance that the email was deleted in error? Were you able to double check your Gmail account online to see if it was still present ? Sometimes the way a Gmail account is setup on the phone can mirror how it synced with your gmail account accessible on your computer. If somehow in error the email was deleted by accident, this is one way it could disappear. Perhaps check your Gmail account trash folder, spam folder or any other folder you have set up to see if the email was simply  moved to a different location. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.  I did not delete this email.  And I did not find it in any of my gmail online folders

Then two days later, it reappeared with no action on my part.  It wasn't there, then it was.  Along with two other emails that had disapperared on the same day.

I do not understand how this can happen.  Could understand if I had not sycned and the email still appeared online.  But the email appeared on my phone, then disappeared from the phone and online, then reappeared.

Have not seen this problem with other gmail accounts that I download and store on my PC.

I have not heard of this issue happening on this phone or other Android devices. Do you have this email setup thru Outlook on your computer also? If so, there may be a setting in Outlook that is deleting the messages from the server after being read. Has this happened with any other emails? There are no settings in the phone that would cause the messages to be deleted from the server after reading the emails. The phone just mirrors what is on Gmail's servers. If this continues to happen, I would recommend contacting Google Support at www.google.com/support.
