Another problem with Backup Assistant, syncs at wrong time

Since I seem to be unable to turn off the Backup Assistant I configured it to perform it's update every night from midnight-6am.

 

When I look at Backup Assistant (Settings->Accounts & Sync->Backup Assistant) I find it is syncing at 9:15 pm.

The screen says "Schedule" Every late night (12am-6am), Next update Every late night (12am-6am), Most recent update 9:15pm, 8/3/2010, succeeded (which it did not succeed)

 

Does this app understand timezones ?  Perhaps that's my issue.  I am located in Hawaii so perhaps 9:15PM HST is 3:15AM EST if which is in my scheduled range.  Does the sync get pushed from the verizon site (perhaps based on the east coast, actually I think based in Toronto like their customer support.) or should the phone be initiating in which case the app just has yet another bug.

Multiple issues can effect backup times. Phone being off, poor reception resulting in a cancel, task killers. I can go on and on. It may just be giving you a time that's actually correct because for some reason it didn't get to run at its normal time. If you like, you can manually sync it and compare times.
