I figured people could post here to let other Charge users know when it starts rolling out.

The fascinate got its changelog updated and people are pulling it off the servers by checking for it.

Wait'll you install the update and still can't use Google Video Chat. . . Smiley Happy (yes, I realize that most people really don't use video chat and I'm in the minority - but, I think it's *so stupid* to push that update out to a device with a front-facing camera and not include support for Google Video Chat. It would be different if that update could be downloaded/installed via Android Market at a later date, but it can't). OK. . . done crying for the moment.

It would be really nice to have video with gtalk, I'm right there with ya on that matter, I don't want to have to put on a 3rd party app, it should be enabled with gingerbread!

Jduncan, did you just wake up your phone and the pop up was already there? Our did you check for the update? Did you do it over 3g, 4g, our wifi?

When I got mine this morning, the popup was already there. I didn't have to do "SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > SYSTEM UPDATE" or anything to get it. It was on the screen and I just had to hit "Install". I feel your anticipation pain. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to get the update any quicker. And, once you have gotten the update, you'll know it.

Yea, I'm not wild about this either, would be nice to be able to manually pull it down since it had been pushing out now over the past few days.

NJ / NY here and still nothing. Perhaps tonight or maybe the weekend? If they do it over the weekend, if not then sometime next week......hopefully. Fingers are still crossed for sometime today. :smileyhappy:

If some of those claims of having an authoritative schedule for the rollout are accurate and they are pushing notices to 100K "after 11:59pm EST" last night, and then implying it increases to "more later on Friday", I'd expect some continued notices through the day today.  Maybe not until after peak utilization hours, though...

Probably times when you don't get free nights and weekend calling.  Standard business hours at least.

This is odd considering how long it took to get Froyo on my Fascinate, but I got Gingerbread yesterday afternoon with a random update check. My phone went from 2.2.3 (possibly 2.2.2) to 2.3.5 in one update.

I was initially having a problem with frequent and very annoying "soft reboots" about every 60 seconds or so until I powered off my phone and took out my microSD card. By "soft reboot" I mean that roughly every 60 seconds my screen would go blank and the short power-on music from both Samsung and Verizon would play and after a total of about 20 seconds the screen would turn back on and I'd have to unlock my phone again. Once I removed the microSD card that problem stopped and hasn't come back after putting the card back in.

Anyway, I hope this means that the Charge and other newer phones will get the update very soon as well.
