Audio player error: do not recognize that type of file

Having an intermittent problem playing audio files on my new droid x, at times when I try to play an audio file the player says it does not recognize the type of file, even though I had play the same song/file the day before.  When this error occurs I also have trouble, or cannot view, you tube app, my own video files, Pandora app, slacker app.  Why is this happening?  I can cure it by removing and replacing battery but there must be a better way.  Thanks in advance!

Pandora has been known to cause these same issues that you describe.  Try uninstalling it and doing a battery pull reset.

I've been waiting on this issue to be addressed by Pandora for a couple months now.  As of yet, no fix.  It's a shame because I really like Pandora.

I've used Slacker Radio and it was okay.  The problem with the Pandora app is that it causes all the errors you are mentioning, even when you are just watching Youtube or trying to play an Mp3.  Try the uninstall and reset and see if it remedies the other issues you are having.  If everything is good after a day or so, you know it's caused by the Pandora app.
