Backup Assistant Still Not Working

I Have a new Droid Bionic, and I have not been able to get a backup or restore to work on my phone. Sunday the 25th was the day that I got my phone the sales rep was unable to get the backup assistant to work. The rep checked the system, found that there was a trouble ticket open for this and that they were working on the issue, but still no fix for this, this problem keeps running my battery down along with hogging memory as he keeps trying to run on my phone. In the past this app worked ok, but now with there top of the line phone, it does not work ! I would like to see a fix ASAP. If they can't get this fixed I would like to be able to uninstall this app from my phone along with the other apps that I will not use at all.

Any help on this would be grateful.

Are you going from a smart phone to another one? Or regular phone to smart phone? Once your contacts are there gmail will be the one backing them up. I would probably recommend to have the store transfer the contacts and be done with it. Because if you use back up assistant it will be connecting everyday to check for updates, why have two services do it when gmail does it great.

It doesn't work for me either, I was hoping to restore my contacts list but looks like that is a total loss.  Only about 100 contacts in there.

That happened on my wifes bionic and we tried setup again it didnt work so did a factory reset and it worked the second time.
