Battery

I just bought the Droid Incredible and love the phone. However, the battery does not last the whole day. They suggested buying the battery extender which will make the phone chunkier and make the battery last longer. Has anyone bought this extender and what are the results?

I know someone who said the extender doesn't work and they have upgraded to the large Droid by Motorolla. They said that the battery lasts longer even though the store tells me it's the same battery.

Glad you like it but you are right, a day's usage should be your standard.  Since you are new and probably haven't experimented with any settings,  changing these would be a logical first step--cheaper, less hassle, time saving, etc. before buying the extended battery. From the online manual:

     Checking information about your phone
Press HOME  > MENU, and then tap Settings.
Scroll down the screen, and then tap About phone.
     Select one of the following:
.
     Battery
Check information about the battery such as its current battery level, status, and what
     programs are using the battery
You can use this to discover any problems.  Your display is normally  the highest.  Probably the two biggest battery eaters are your display and your 3g radio because it will constantly search if your signal is weak. To address the display usage, use the Power Control widget. Long press on an empty space on your home screen, select widgets, select Power Control.  It allows you toggle on/off your bluetooth, wifi, sync, and display brightness.  Use the lowest display you can manage.  If you toggle sync off, your phone will only update data (emails etc) when you want them; likewise on the other settings.
See if changing these settings or any others that you need/discover extend your battery sufficiently.  If you are a heavy user and these are insufficient, the extended battery would be the next step.  I understand it works well but like you said, it is bigger.
