Big issues with Verizon/Droid replacement phone

Hi,

Am just looking for feedback/help/opinions and am at my wits end.

Bought my Droid in December 2009 and was very happy with it.

In February it mysteriously shorted so I called Verizon for a replacement.

They sent me a "certified like new" phone which was badly beat up.  I asked

for another and the next one was better.  In May, the screen started going

out on that phone so I went through the process again and got what I thought

was the best phone so far.  Well that's because I rarely use the actual phone

part of it!  Turns out, when you pick up a call without a headset on, it starts

pushing random buttons like **0* and while you can still hear the person

talking, they can't hear you.

So I called Verizon again and got the same story, they would send me a

certified like new phone.  I guess one of my questions is what does that

mean?  My version of certified like new must be different than theirs.

My version would mean no scratches, no dings, etc.

I argued and said I bought this phone in good faith in December, it had

failed several times and I wanted a new one, not a used one with issues

that seem to keep popping up.  The answer was, "too bad."

I wanted to know if anyone has any advice or suggestions.  Honestly I

am not trying to work the system or do anything dishonestly.  I only

wish to have a phone that works and continues to work.

I have been a loyal Verizon customer for years and have paid for insurance

on this (and other) phones as well.  Why can't I get a reliable phone that works??

Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you!!

I had a problem with the phone screen going black. I went through three certified phones until I got one that worked. However every phone I receved was in mint condition. Just keep sending them back until you are satisified.
