Bluetooth - Won't Connect Correctly

Hey,

I have two Droid Inc 2s (my wifes and my own).  I have attempted to connect them with 5 other devices (Cars, GPS, Headsets, etc).  Both of the devices are able to pair, but that is generally as far as I get.  About 50% of the time they connect, but then disconnect and reconnect repeatadly and aren't useful.  I have contacted HTC, who is escalating the issue and will respond in 7-10 days, and Verizon, who had no clue what to do or any advice beyond calling the manufacturers of the other devices because they must be broken (all worked with Blackberry Tour, Curve, Droid X, etc.....) or to return the phone.

Has anyone else experience Bluetooth issues with these phones?

-Eric

Note: Verizon did say they would return my NE2 Credit used to buy the phone and will not charge restocking fees, so at least that is a bonus.  The phones were also completely wiped and tested from the default state with the only thing done to them being activation.

Update on the above:

I have been playing with it for about the last hour and have gotten nowhere.  I have reset both phones, paired and unpaired from a wide variety of devices and no matter what I do they will not stay connected.  It seems that the root of the problem is somewhere in the bluetooth software on the device, but I can't really be entirely sure without looking through the source provided by HTC on their site.  I know that Android itself does work and that the Bluetooth on the Droid X connects just fine.  I am going to give up at this point and most likely take the phones back, but I am still wondering if anyone else has gotten bluetooth to work on these phones or seen similar issues?

Verizon - Any word on if there is a known issue here?  Software updates?  Anything?  I really like the phone and would love to keep it, but can't without functional Bluetooth.

Also having difficulty with Bluetooth connectivity on my Droid Incredible 2.

The device will not maintain a connection to my 2011 GMC Terrian hands free calling. My Droid Incredible 1 and iPhone work just fine.

For what it is worth, I had the HTC Thunderbolt for a week and it always would not maintain a connection with my Terrain - kept connecting and disconnecting. It must be the software or firmware HTC is using with these newer devices that is causing the issues.

Verizon - please escalate this issue to HTC. Hands free bluetooth calling is a very important feature, especially in regards to safety, and it is essential HTC get this working asap.

Thanks!

Escalated to HTC... talked to two people there. They have no idea what it is. Couldn't figure it out. They seem to think it has something to do with the bloatware Verizon put on it, but we couldn't exactly get a true answer. I am still running through with the debugger connected trying to see if I can find my problem.

Thanks for the info. I've tried about everything I can think of (outside of running through with the debugger) and can't get it to work.

Are there any updates regarding this issue? I am having the same issue and am debating whether to return the phones.

Sorry you're experiencing this issue with the Bluetooth connectivity of your Droid Incredible 2. This is an issue we have lifted up to HTC for investigation, and to assist them with researching a resolution, we would like more information regarding your device itself. Please PM me with the MEID (Mobile Equipment Identification) which is found by tapping the following:

Settings>About Phone>Phone Identity>MEID will be the sixth choice from the top. Once you have obtained this information, please send it to me so that I can escalate this problem for you to the manufacturer.

Thanks again,

Has there been any progress on a resolution to this problem?

I just got my DINC2  a few days ago and people say they can't talk to me on my built in car enabled bluetooth because they get terrible echoing on their end.  It sounds fine on my end.

I just bought a DINC2 yesterday, and tried to pair with my Plantronics Discovery 975 bluetooth headset to no avail.  I had a Blackberry Storm 2 which I love and it worked fine.  Is there a way to manually set up the device?  The only option that I see is to scan for bluetooth devices and it's coming up with nothing.  If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, I'm debating about returning the phone as I have 14 days and I'm already running into some issues that I shouldn't be.

I understand your frustration. Have you attempted a different headset to see if it works with the device? In addition, I would like to provide you with some additional troubleshooting steps.

Please remove the Bluetooth device from your paired devices on the Incredible2. Then, power both devices off. Whiel the phone is powered off, please remove the battery and wait 60 seconds. Then, re-attach the battery. Please then power both devices on and try again to re-pair them.

Please let us know if this works for you. Thank you!

I'm trying to copy photos from my DINC2 to my computer using Bluetooth.  Everything seems to be working fine at first.  The DINC2 recognizes the computer  and the computer lists the phone as a device.  The transfer seems to go well.  Then I get a message saying the computer has rejected the file.  I guess this is a problem with some setting on the computer and not a problem with the DINC2.  Any suggestions?

I was able to connect to Rocketfish headphones. At first I got a "found but not connected" message, but a few seconds later it worked fine. I watched some TV and it stayed connected.

I just tried it with the Plantronics 245 that Verizon sells, and that worked fine too. Sorry yours isn't working.
