I have been having numerous problems with my phone and now a problem with the Bluetooth. I have a Sony Xlopd Stereo in my car with built-in Bluetooth capability. I have been able to use the phone connected to the Sony flawlessly for several weeks. On an in coming call the Caller's name and the ringer would go through the speakers in my car. When I wanted to place a call from the car I would press the Bluetooth button on my stereo, this would launch the voice command program on the Droid X and output the voice commands responses through the stereo and then dial the phone number I was trying to call. Then I updated the phone to 2.2 and still maintained all the same Bluetooth capability. However, after having other problems with the phone after the update I decided to do a Factory Rest. After the rest it seemed to clear up some of my issues; except now when I re-paired the phone to my Sony stereo I have lost a lot of functionality. For example, now when a call comes it does not announce the caller or ring through the stereo. When I try to place a call through the stereo, the voice command program is no longer launched on the phone and it will not place a call. I have to initiate the call through the phone itself and then the Bluetooth automatically picks up the call. I have tried to wipe the paring from the phone and stereo and pair again with no luck. I have also checked the volume settings and most settings on the phone. This frustrating when trying to place a call. I would not be so bad if I never had the capability, but now knowing that it was possible at one time I want it to work again.
Does anyone know if this functionality was lost after the update and my phone was still "stuck" between 2.1 and 2.2?
Or is there another problem with my device that can't be resolved?
I am open to any advice, since Verizon will not replace my phone that has signal and reception issues dropped calls, reboots randomly among other things and now this issue even though I pay $8 a month for warranty and pay my bill with four other phones.
I am really hating the Driod X with all the flaws and inconsistency..I miss my Blackberry.

When you reset did you use the method listed here? http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-X-by-Motorola/Minimize-Droid-X-Issues-After-Froyo-Update/m-p/29658...

Yes, I did as a matter of fact. I followed your post when I did it. Currently, Automatic Restore is unchecked, but back up my data is checked. Would that have any effect?

I do not believe it should because the auto restore usually causes the issue.... This seems strange because my voice command works perfectly from headset and handsfree, did you check the bluetooth settings and make sure you have the handsfree option?

I was having the same problem with my X right out of the box. Using a Motorola T505 handsfree device. Turns out that it acts exactly as you describe if the screen lock security is enabled. Once I disabled that, it worked fine. It does take a few seconds for the voice prompts to activate, but other than that it works. Not sure if you use the extra screen lock security, but if you do, you may want to disable it.

Its been so long that I thought about that issue but that is correct, when the device is locked using the password or swipe feature it does restrict the voice dialed from activating from bluetooth...

I thoguht about the screen locking feature and disabled that as well. I had the pattern lock enabled. However, now with it "disabled" after about an hour of not touching my phone I still get the pattern lock screen come up when I go to the phone but it doesn't fuction as it normally would: It doesn't show when I trace the pattern on the screen and it takes several tries to unlock the phone. ....And still have not gained the bluetooth funcitonality back.

When you say the handsfree option, do you mean with in the phone or the stereo? I don't remember seeing the option anywhere in my phone.
